Craziness

Movies play a vital role in my life. Since from my childhood, I’m crazy about movies and all associated stuffs with it including theatres, trailers, multiplex, filmy news, gossips about actor, actress and their life styles, interviews of directors and artists, film songs etc. Anything related to movies are interesting to me and I’m very excited about them. That’s what probably I mean, crazy. I’ll explain few crazy facts or thoughts of mine about movies:-

Crazy fact 1 :-
First let me begin with revealing how I watch every movie in my PC when I’m alone. In short, I try to recreate the effect of watching the movie in theatre. Initially, I’ll start playing a song and switch off the lights and then pause the song, see some trailers before beginning the movie. And then the movie begins. Once it’s an interval, I’ll ‘pause’ the movie and resume back the song which was being played earlier and I’ll take few minutes break and if possible will eat some snacks. Meanwhile will try to think about what might happen to movie after interval. Then the movie resumes till the end! And I won’t forward the movie (coz in theatre it’s not allowed) and I’ll play even the scrolling titles till the end. Finally again the song resumes back. This is how each movie is watched by me! Don’t think it is funny and probably I might have done it only few times. NOT AT ALL. This is how I watch every movie in my PC. Seriously!

Crazy fact 2 :-
During my engineering time, I still remember, when friends use to come to my room, I use to show them the trailers of upcoming movies with details about hero, heroine, director, music director, release date, any buzz facts about movie etc, and while showing them trailers, I use to close the doors and turn off the lights for darkness. They use to kid me about this and I never use to mind about it. I use to enjoy it a lot.

Crazy fact 3 :-
Almost 95% of the movies which I have watched in theatre are ALONE! It is really strange for everybody, but I never felt strange and I don’t know why. It has become like a habit. I still remember my first film to watch alone in theatre. It was ‘saathiya’ which was re-released in ‘sangam’ theatre, dharwad during may time in 2003! Exactly 10 years back trend started and it still continues…

Crazy fact 4 :-
You remember during school days, how we use to do homework before going to school. Similarly I do my homework before going to each movie! That means, whenever I’m going for a new movie, I’ll collect all news around the movie, watch interviews of actor, actress, director etc, if any and most importantly I’ll listen to all the songs and familiarize them so that I can enjoy the songs part too. This part also ensures that I won’t get bored or feel like losing interest during songs in the movie. This really helps in telugu/kannada movies where usually songs will be forced into the story unnecessarily.

Crazy fact 5 :-
Few of my friends have observed or seen me always going to dress circle and not for balcony. Even now I don’t watch movie in balcony. Don’t think I’m cheap. Also sometimes, when I have taken my friends for a movie, I preferred dress circle rather than balcony. I don’t know what they would have thought of me for my action. I would like to answer the reason for my action here. Well initially to be honest, around 10 years back, yes, I was cheap as no much pocket money and use to go for dress circle by saving money given for food, but later on, when I started earning, then also I prefer down than up in balcony because movie watching is an experience which one must feel. Theatre in the sense is where you must have to see giant hero, giant heroine, giant chases and giant screen with giant-giant things on it. When I started earning, I went for balcony couple of times by paying more, but it wasn't giant anymore ;-). In balcony the seats will be far behind from the screen and all the things on screen started to look smaller. Never felt the feeling of watching movie in real theatre. Now-a-days it’s all about multiplexes and good thing about it is that not matter if you sit even at the last seat, you’ll visualize the giant things. So no issues with multiplexes but I never ever go to balcony in normal theatres. Please don’t misunderstand me as I’m cheap ;-)  Let me share a recent incident in the next crazy fact.

Crazy fact 6 :-
For dhookudu movie, I was at theatre next day of its release and it was heavily crowded. Going for a movie in theatre is a wonderful experience. The crazy crowd, larger than life posters of hero’s, talks before movie, black ticket selling and the entire surrounding environment will be just amazing. I didn't get tickets as it was houseful and there were only balcony tickets available on black. You may not believe but I purchased the balcony ticket and exchanged it with a person with DC ticket. He was surprised and I was excited. The fun more lies in DC with gigantic visuals on screen. Beside, for such mass movies, the screaming, whistling, dancing, OMG, one must experience and feel the heat over there. Even if I had paid more, I would have never got this fun’n’heat in balcony. It’s non-explainable. Movies take us to their own virtual world by forgetting real world and let us have fun over there. I even have recorded the screaming and whistling when gigantic Mahesh Babu takes an entry in this movie. Next time when you meet me, don’t forget asking me to play that for you ;-)

Crazy fact 7 :-
You know, I like trailers very much and insist everybody to watch them. Let me reveal my thoughts about trailers. They are like a ‘new hope’. With trailers showing during beginning of movie they are putting hope in us for coming to theatre for next time. That is, when I go to watch for a movie, my wait for that movie is over. In few hours, I’ll watch the movie and the wait finishes. No more waiting for this movie, but instead by seeing trailer, it gives me a new hope, new think and new reason to come for theatre next time. You may not believe but my life road map will be continuously syncing with the movies getting released. Example like, I sync up movies with my personal life. They are like my second calendar. I’ll start studying seriously after watching “Bluffmaster”, I’ll watch “magadheera” in Tirupati among telugu viewers, By the time robot movie releases, I’ll be doing this, once our project finishes, will watch ‘kick’ movie etc etc. I hope you got the hang of my thoughts. This I do till today and this very minute I have my calendar synced with movies releasing in future, including “Ranjhana”, “Ghanchakar” etc. It is a continuous process running in my head. I can’t stop it!

Crazy fact 8 :-
Moving on, it might not surprise you but I have watched two continuous movies in theatre one after the other several times and someday I’m planning to watch 3 show’s one after the other! I had planned it during college days but unfortunately couldn't execute. Another thing which had created a buzz among friend’s circle during college days was that I had watched ‘Dhoom’ movie right after attending physics exam of II PUC. That was quite a topic among friends but from my point of view, I had been for a movie to enjoy and celebrate for writing a great physics paper and relax my mind to prepare for next exam (and physics paper was already synced with my filmy calendar for dhoom). After this incident, I have repeated the same during engineering days too but never dared to tell anyone as was afraid. I use to lie that I was studying ;-)

Crazy fact 9 :-
Coming to statistics, Every week, I watch an average of 5 movies in pc and minimum of 1 movie in theatre. Recently from past 3 years have caught up watching and enjoying English sitcoms starting from Prison break, Friends, Scrubs, Two and a half men, How I met your mother, the big bang theory, supernatural, IT crowd etc. If not movie, then I will be watching these sitcoms multiple times. Movies include wide variety of languages from english, hindi, kannada, telugu and tamil.

There are still many more crazy facts (if you interested to know, catch me offline to know more...) but let’s stop at this point, as without any conclusion length of blog is increasing!

Throughout my educational carrier I was completely crazy about movies as mentioned above but never had dared to express. I thought everybody will think I’m crazy stupid person. Obviously you’ll be thinking then why am I expressing it now ;-) You know, everybody during their educational carrier will be having some hobby or will be crazy about something which distinguishes them from the rest of the crowd. That becomes there identification. A famous saying tells that we play with life inside college and life plays with us once we step outside the college. Once we are out of college struggling to understand the meaning of our lives, we completely transform into altogether another human being. We need to learn the ways of life and start dancing as life asks us to dance. In this long tedious process, many give up their own identification or the craziness in them which earlier once had defined them as distinguished individual.

Recently in a past one month, attended lot of marriages, functions and met and talked with so many old friends and realized how much they have changed since I knew them. The very basic thing which I had remembered about them and which had defined them was lost. The life plays very hard with everyone. Few loose and give up their craziness very soon, even constantly wishing for it deep down their heart. I feel sorry for them and realize how lucky I’m that even after facing so many terrible and unbelievable things in my life, I didn't give up my craziness.  If I think back, my mother use to watch movies a lot and I think, I have got it from her. I feel really proud of myself in this regard and happily decided to reveal my craziness and give you a message:-

Think it as you are playing chess game with life as our opponent. Life is a very strong opponent and has very good pawns. He’ll definitely play difficult moves with his strongest pawn. No matter what happens, don’t lose your craziness pawn. It is the only powerful pawn you have, through which, you can play fun ‘move’ and enjoy the life no matter how hard life plays against you.

Happy Life or Meaningful Life?

All these time, I had only known that our life must be filled with happiness. The ideal expectation from life of each individual is ‘happine...
